English Country Cottage by Robin Carey

I saw this beautiful English Country Cottage on eBay last month. The exterior was finished with rustic brick and stonework. I wish I could get a closer look of the front door: there seems to be a very intricate lock or latch on the door! My favorite has got to be the moss-covered chimney and all the colorful blooms that seem to sprout out of every nook and cranny of the foundation. There is such vibrancy in this dollhouse! Don't you agree?

Antique Victorian Dollhouse
This dollhouse comes with its share of history. The seller's father had bought it in the 1960's in London. The antique dealer he bought it from claimed that this house had spent 50 years or so in a storage at Sotheby's. Apparently, it was left there at the end of the 19th century!
My favorite has got to be the faux-parquet floor and detailed wood carvings! Bon Voyage my good house, and I wish you find a family that will love you for a hundred years more!

The Red Brick Orchid

So here it is, my latest from a long line of Orchids. This one is extra special to me, since it is my first try at both paper-clay bricks and internal wiring for lights. It sports 4 lights: 3 tulip sconces and a ceiling light. The exterior foundation is covered in river rocks and moss, which has become a signature of sorts for all my houses.
The interior is done in harmonious tones of cream and beige, creating an excellent backdrop for furniture and decorations. The floor, and ceiling moldings match the mahogany floor and window frames. Little details, such as the golden doorknob, or the raised details on the exterior trims, makes this dollhouse a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

The Gilbert Mansion
This grand mansion by Kathleen Gilbert was on eBay a few weeks ago. It is a mammoth of a dollhouse, four stories high and consisting of 33 rooms. The Gilbert Mansion is almost 7 ft. long, by over 6 ft. tall, and about 30 in. wide.
The music and billiard club room has amazing wood paneling up to within a foot of the ceiling, with plaster-formed "marble" relief at the uppermost foot. This room was designed around a baby grand piano. This rooms French doors and long windows look out to another wrap around porch. This room also features the beautiful sliding doors that are incredibly impressive!
The exterior design was taken from several European and Canadian manors and castles; the roof is "verdigris" "copper" standing seam metal, just like the parliament buildings in Ottawa. The exterior walls are weathered limestone, with some relief work.
