Tomy Smaller Homes and Gardens Dollhouse

The first time I heard of Tomy dollhouses was when I saw a Tomy living-room set on eBay. My all time favorite has to be the Tomy record player stereo system. It is amazingly detailed and very realistic looking.

A few weeks ago, this Tomy dollhouse sold on eBay for around $300. It came complete with Tomy furniture and dolls.

I can't believe this! I was searching for this dollhouse! I had it as a child and loved it. I remember decorating it with Christmas lights and installing carpeting. I never got all the furniture for it. I think I just got the living room. I was just sitting here thinking about it and decided to do an internet search, and here it is! Thanks for posting!

I have just sold the dollhouse I referenced above to a local family. It felt nice letting it go to someone who really wanted the whole set. She had one as a little girl. She is going to share it with her daughter.

Very nice to read all of the comments. My wife and I (age 62) purchased this house in the late 70's / early 80's for our daughter. Today we have it set up for our three year old granddaughter and she and my wife are playing with it as I type. Looks like our set is fairly complete. It will stay here, at "Grandma's" (according to my granddaughter, I am apparently not co-owner of this home as I thought!) where it will remain safe for all grandchildren, boys and girls alike, to enjoy. Thanks for the website.

As with others who have left posts, I received the house and most of the furniture for Christmas of 1981. Have kept it all of these years. Just yesterday I pulled it out of the attic, a little weathered but still in good shape. My 11 year old, same age I was when I received mine was so excited when I put it together today that she was in her room today arranging the furniture the way SHE wanted it. I guess MOM didn't do it correctly. Thanks for all the memories!!! It does pay to keep some things over the years.

I received this house in 1981. It was my Dad's last christmas gift before he died. I lost this house after we moved. This morning I opened up a box from My Husmabd, And he got this for me for our 10th anniversary. I am so very happy I started crying. I don't remember any of my friends having this one growing up. Thanks for the memories.. I guess now I g=have a project to re-decorate my tomy small house. :)

I am moving and wondering if I should sell my house and LOTS Of furniture. I am also happy to find this blog! We all have such fond memories...hard to part with, but yet a lot of us sold it so that other girls (and boys?) could also have the pleasure of playing with such a unique and 'cool' dollhouse. I have a teenage son - and my house is just collecting dust. If someone REALLY Wants to buy it - and has a young daughter, I think I would be ok selling it. (taking pictures before parting from it of course). alanislover@gmail.com - please put dollhouse in subject line. Thanks everyone.

I finally found a Tomy Smaller Homes And Garden Doll House. It comes with some furniture. But no dolls. I also need the nursery set and the records. The stand up mirror, and a few other items. If anyone has any furniture or dolls that they want to sell please let me know asap... I've searched forever for this set. I had it when I was a little girl but my step father made me get rid of it. I was sad for years over that... silly but now I want the toys I had when I was younger... makes me feel young I guess... My email is claudiabarclay@hotmail.com

I only had the Tommy family, but mine lived in a homemade dollhouse. To date, they are STILL my favorite doll house family EVER. They were so realistic, down to their fingers and hair! I had no idea they were actually part of sets until ebay.

I found a doll house to buy on ebay and can't wait for it to get here!!! I'll take photos and find a place to post them so I can show everyone... I need to find the nursery for cheap, someone is selling one for $150 on ebay but that's just too high.... I also need a few other pieces like the stand up mirror and microwave oven stand... I bought a different dollhouse family for the house since I could not locate the set that actually goes with the hosue... :0)

Great memories. I had this dollhouse as a child. Finding pictures of it brings me back to such a wonderful time in my life. I have three daughters, two of which are way beyond the pretend years but my youngest is three and is legally blind and loosing her vision. Would love to have this dollhouse for her because of the detail and would love for her to see it. Wish I would have held on to mine but it was falling apart from being moved around from house to house. Thank you for sharing your photos with us. Hugs, Kerrie

I have been calling this house the better homes and gardens dollhouse, no wonder I couldn't find. This just brought back Christmas memories. However I must admit that I had asked for the Barbie Townhouse that all the other kids received. sigh.....

Thank you for posting this!! I had this as a child, and always wondered what it was called because I loved it so, SO much. I remember the living room set being my absolute favorite, and it's funny, when I saw photos of the kitchen, I could actually feel what it was like to pull those tiny drawers open with my fingernails! What a joy. Thanks again.
